The boredom of life on a rock in the sea off Northumberland takes a sudden turn for the dangerous when Teresa and George have their castle invaded by coarse, brutish American gangster Dickie (Lionel Stander).

But the price for this kind of excitement means imprisonment...and no way to escape the insufferable visiting neighbors off the island! Teresa tries to ease herself by playing records.
