ALL CHUCK, NO JIVE!
Chuck Means Journeys Into History!
"The President's Lady" (1953)

Chuck in a pre-quel to his role as President Andrew Jackson in "The Buccaneer", but here we see another side of "Old Hickory"...that of loving and devoted husband of the maligned Rachel Robards, played here by another FashionState.Com honoree, Susan Hayward.
"The Far Horizons" (1955)

Looks like explorer William Clark and Sacajawea (Donna Reed) were getting pretty cozy on this "Picture Show" vintage magazine cover!
"Major Dundee" (1965)

Early Sam Peckinpah effort about a disgraced Union major on a mission to capture an Apache chief and restore his honor. (And an extended version with a healthy portion of vanished Peckinpah footage restored has been recently released on DVD!)
"The Hawaiians" (1970)

A James Michener novel turned out three movies - this was the second of them. Captain Whip Hoxworth (Chuck) has brought Chinese workers to the island, where he lives with his pretty, part-native islander wife (Geraldine Chaplin). But for those familiar with James Michener novels, it's but a very small part of a near-epic whole!
"Julius Caesar" (1970)

A top-notch cast heads the most cynical "Caesar" yet - Jason Robards as Brutus is truly noble compared to Heston's sneering, sarcastic Antony! This version also features Sir John Gielgud in a marvelous performance as the title character.
"The Three Musketeers" (1973)

The irresistibly rollicking, rowdy, Richard Lester version of Alexandre Dumas' classic novel is given a demonic dose of real menace by Chuck as King Louis XIII's right-hand man, the calm yet ruthless Cardinal Richelieu, and his best and most dangerous agent, the pretty and poisonous Milady de Winter (Faye Dunaway).
"Crossed Swords" (1978)

Mark Twain's "The Prince and the Pauper" gets the Richard Lester treatment in witty comedy and swashbuckling action...and features none other than Charlton Heston as England's most notorious monarch, Henry VIII!
CHUCK ON LONG PLAY

Before his highly-regarded Biblical video series, Chuck enjoyed reading from both Old and New Testament for his fans and for the faithful.
