Mad Molly's
DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE

It is this wench's considered opinion that pop culture is becoming less influential
yet more and more manipulative.

The books of today are Soma tomes designed to seduce rather than enlighten and
nearly completely devoid of grace, style, or intellectual content.

The music of today is raucous, head-exploding noise
filled with driving rhythms and coarse vulgarity
with all the spiritual depth of profanity scribbled in wet cement by lewd children.

The movies and television shows of today are the unreal "reality"
of sensationalists and cheap exhibitionists
who wish to elevate their own perverse viewpoints
by dragging our culture down to the lowest common denominator
at the price of a thinking being's soul, wit and imagination.

The media today has become a freak show
that mocks mores and classic forms of beauty and entertainment
while propping up anti-heros, villains, and criminals...

...and the permissive fashion state of today
has become authoritarian in demanding we be of one mind and spirit
in accepting the dubious talents of the ugly and perverse
at the rejection of the good, the soulful, the beautiful, and just plain good clean fun.

They don't make 'em like they used to.

And this is more true than ever
in the age of the Internet.

I've created my own fashion state on this site
in celebration and appreciation of the talents of yesteryear
(and even a few hold-outs who flourish today!)
to share with you some of my favorite links
in honor of the talents, beauty, and accomplishments
of the entertainers and artists of the past
and the fans who love them.

So if you want to escape the brain laundry
of today's pop culture shock treatment,
you're welcome to become a voluntary citizen of

Mad Molly's FASHION STATE!

I hope you will enjoy it!

Molly
