Mad Mod Musical Magi
"THE MONKEES"

1966-1968

SECOND SEASON GUEST STARS!

Your eyes are not deceiving you...it's showman extraordinaire Liberace about to take his performance art to the next level by playing piano with a hammer!

Venita Wolf as the object of Micky's affections; Dave Draper is Micky's muscleman competition for the girl...which naturally means a few Monkeeshines...

Television veteran Lou Antonio and Billie "Witchiepoo" Hayes as a couple of hillbillies who have kidnapped Davy as the result of a family feud!

The other side of the feud..."F Troop" honey Melody Patterson and daddy Dub Taylor lookin' to hook the girl up. After all, she is almost sixteen!

Before he was nominated for an Oscar, Rupert Crosse starred with the Monkees in the hysterical "Monkees Marooned".

Perennial senior thespian Burt Mustin is also marooned on the island...and has been since his silent movie crew abandoned him ages ago!

Leon Askin takes time off from being "General Burkhalter" on "Hogan's Heroes" to play the baddie in "Card-Carrying Red Shoes".

Wacky "Laugh-In" alumnus Ruth Buzzi as a zany old lady who believes her dead husband is scheduled to return to earth at the boy's pad!

Australian television star Chips Rafferty plays a captain who has become a pirate...yet is unfazed by Micky's foolhardy, rash attempt to mutiny. (Micky stars as the parrot's voice in this episode, too!)

Barton MacLane leaves his "General Peterson" uniform back at the "I Dream of Jeannie" set to play a double-dealin' Texas millionaire land-grabber.

The blond dish is Joy Harmon, and she should be immediately recognizable to anyone who is a fan of the movie "Cool Hand Luke"!

The bespectacled kid is Butch Patrick stepping outside his role of "Eddie Munster" to appear on "The Christmas Show".

Radio star and voice man Regis Cordic as The Town Crier in "Fairy Tale", a favorite episode among Monkees and their fans.

Perpetual Presidential candidate Pat Paulsen warns the audience against the dangers of alien invasion. Hey, it happened to Micky...

More guest stars you've seen everywhere before: Stuart Margolin and Nita Talbot have a plot to invade earth that involves Micky!

At a castle on another show, sultry Arlene Martel and omnipresent Ron Masak have monstrous plans for all the boys!

"Captain Hook" meets "Captain Weirdo" - veteran voice artist and actor Hans Conried meets his match in Micky in "Monkees' Paw". The outtakes at the end of this episode show his displeasure at the boys' antics.

Jack Good, television rock show producer and producer/scriptwriter for "33 1/3 Revolutions Per Monkee", loses control when "Bewitched"'s Bernard "Doctor Bombay" Fox bursts into song.

Giving a hard worker his props - Jack H. Williams, property master, in a side-splitting cameo.

Jerry Blavat, "The Geator With The Heater", as himself casting a Rockathon Band Contest.

Dean Martin's daughter (and Davy Jones' girlfriend) Deana Martin plays yet another romantic interest for the indomitable Mr. Jones!

Charlie Smalls, the soulful songwriting genius behind "The Wiz", gives Davy a lesson in soul. A pity their song remains unreleased!

A very special Monkees interview - Michael Nesmith interviews Frank Zappa! (Uhhhh...)

Special Guest Villain: Burgess Meredith as The Penguin in a surprise cameo.

Wild comic Rip Taylor as the evil Wizard Glick wants to rule the world through television! Couldja just die?

Final guest: Golden-voiced folk singer and guitarist Tim Buckley closes the series with a sweet serenade.

BUT WAIT...THERE'S MORE!

VILLAIN-IN-RESIDENCE
MONTE LANDIS

Demon From Down Under...but Monte Landis starts
his seven Monkees incarnations as a kindly sheik looking
to hook up Davy with his pretty daughter. (And the perqs for
his buddies aren't to be believed!)

Here Monte plays Wilbur Zeckenbush, local political puppetmaster looking to knock Mike out of competition for Mayor.

Two museum security guards (Vic Tayback and Monte Landis) intend to use Peter's painting talents to commit art forgery!

Can Davy's antics and trickery save Micky
and other victims from the clutches of health club fraud Shah-Ku?

Monte is Major Pshaw and he's hunting Monkees with the reluctant assistance of Rupert Crosse as his man Thursday in "Monkees Marooned", one of my favorite episodes!

As Oraculo the mentalist, Monte hopes to snag a 10-week gig away from the Monkees by turning Peter into his psychic slave! (That's Monkees director Jim Frawley in the back!)

So how bad can a villain be on a groovy, romping, zany show?
Meet Mr. Zero, aka The Devil, who bought Peter's soul for a song...
or rather, a harp.
